I finished playing Assassin’s Creed 2 last night and I loved every bit of it. The first game was good, but a bit monotone; with AC2 the makers learned from their mistakes and created an awesome work of art. The story is told very well with convincing characters, supported by nice video sequences from time to time.

The game-play experience is impressive. The quests are not as similar as in the first part of the game, but vary much more. The nicely animated killing blows add nicely to the assassin’s flair of the game. The cities and characters come with great detail and you really have the feeling of being there in person.

However the game is not perfect, I missed an option to vary the level of difficulty. The jump and run aspects were challenging, but the fights were too easy for the most part. The main story is quite linear but with way more surprises in it then the first game. Aside to the main story there are a bunch of fun side quests. All in all the main story being linear as it is did not bother me in person, since it is told so well.

If you are looking for a game to play (amusing you have the proper hardware to run it), I can only suggest Assassin’s Creed 2 to you; you will love it just as much as I did. The cliffhanger at the end also gives an interesting hint, on were the third and last part will take place, but I don’t want to spoil you.

The following video shows the actual games graphics and you can imagine the flair and addiction this game has put upon me.
